Welcome to another informative blog post! Today we are looking at the advantages of seamless gutters over standard seamed gutters.
To begin, seamed gutters come in 10 ft sections. That means that at best, you will have open seams every 10 feet that must be sealed properly to prevent leaking. Over time, these seams will start to leak and cause problems whereas when considering seamless gutters, there are very few seams to seal. Only the corners of your home and the end of a gutter run have an area that requires sealing. On a typical home, that amounts to approximately 4-5 areas that need sealing whereas with seamed gutters, you could end up with 24+ areas that need sealing.
Furthermore the price difference between seamed and seamless gutters these days are negligible. With all of the extra sealant and hardware (and labor!) required when installing seamed gutters, the price can match or even surpass the cost of seamless gutters.
Lastly, as we have already touched on, seamed gutters do not last as long as seamless gutters due to the large amount of areas that must be sealed. By the time many of the seams are leaking, it makes more sense to get new gutters installed. If you choose seamless gutters from the beginning, you can be confident that with proper maintenance, your gutters will last a very long time!
